The Antique Fireplace Company reclaims and restores original antique fireplaces including cast iron bedroom fireplaces, arched and tiled inserts, complete combination fireplaces, Gothic arches, timber mantels and original marble fireplace surrounds, for re-sale throughout the UK and for export. Most antique fireplaces are suitable for natural /LPG gas and coal/solid fuel . Over the years we have salvaged hundreds of reclaimed antique cast iron fireplaces. At present we have a wide variety of sizes from bedroom fireplaces to large cast-iron fireplaces suitable for the largest of rooms. Reclaimed antique fireplaces dates range from the Georgian era through Victorian to the Edwardian period.

Because we believe we restore our antique fireplaces to a far higher standard then any of our competitors.We have been restoring antique fireplaces for many years and have gained a vast amount of specialist knowledge. One of the main points is to ensure the removal of all rust, this includes the back of the fireplace also which to our knowledge none of our competitors do. If any rust remains on the fireplace, particularity the back, it will continue to eat through helped by the corrosive gases and damp from the chimney. Our careful cleaning process removes all traces of rust, which dipping or stripping wont do, leaving a superior finish which enables the grate polish to key into the iron giving a nice smooth texture which will last. After ensuring our antique fireplaces are rust free we immediately apply a red oxide paint to seal the back and several cost of grate polish to the front. We then replace bolts and repair damaged parts, ensuring all our antique fireplaces (unless otherwise stated) are suitable for many more years service.
We are a small family run business who have been involved in reclamation since 1975. We have established ourselves in a modest way, as a worldwide distributor of genuine antique fireplaces. Most of our antique fireplaces are reclaimed cast iron and have been fully restored, 95% are ready to be taken away with you. We normally have around 275 original fireplaces all available on-line or which can be viewed under one roof in our 2700ft² showroom, which is probably one of the best selections within the UK. Our stocks range from as early as 1770 to 1930. The stock changes frequently, so if you don't find your hearts desire today you could try again tomorrow.
