“The Arts” Victorian Cast Iron Combination Fireplace
Prodigious Victorian cast iron fireplace, “the Arts”; A glorious eagle perched on the world amongst the clouds, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns, flanked on either side by panels of passion flowers. Each leg panel depicts the “Arts”; you can find a writers quill, a poets scroll, artists palette and brushes, stone masons hammer, musical instruments including a trumpet, castanets, flute, glockenspiel. The detail and workmanship is incredible.
In excellent condition, complete with new back and grate. From a house in Bristol. Circa 1889.
