Victorian Arts and Crafts Fireplace
Victorian cast iron Arts and Crafts tiled fireplace. The central panel depicts, from left to right; a swallow roosting on a branch below a crescent moon and starry sky. In the centre, a heron wading in a pond, surrounded by wild flowers and reeds. On the right, a wren settling down on an oak branch amongst wild grass. In excellent condition with new back & grate. From a house in Weston-Super-Mare. Circa 1886
Note: The opening measurements refer to the fire back, in addition to this there is a section of this Victorian fireplace which protrudes from the back of the fireplace 1″ which is 36″ high x 21″ wide, this could be accommodated for in the plaster but if there is no room your fire opening would need to be this large.
