Victorian Arched Tiled Insert
Victorian arched tiled insert made by the Falkirk Foundry. In excellent condition, complete with new back and grate. From a house in Nottingham.
Shown with a fabulous collection of Minton Hollins-series tiles made in the Stoke-on-Trent china works and dated around 1870. Incredible detail of Aesop’s Fables drawings, probably designed by Gustave Dore. My favourite are the frogs setting off on a journey. The tiles are a neutral colour with a pale honey glaze. We have never seen a full set of these and probably won’t again!
