Antique Victorian ‘Gold Medal Eagle Grate’. Very unusual tiled grate; this fireplace has two large doors each side the fire opening fitted with a set of antique fireplace tiles or cast iron panels. Behind each of these tiled doors is a further three doors, the top door remains closed to act as the hood the other two can be used to close the fire when not in use.
Shown with a stunning set of Victorian majolica fireplace tiles; a church on the shoreline with rocks and trees in the foreground and mountains in the background and a water wheel with reeds and a graceful tree set on a cream background. In excellent condition. Available @ £700 with this fireplace
