Victorian Rococo Cast Iron Fireplace. A truly captivating rare Victorian fireplace in the Rococo style. On either side of the fireplace is a mythical bird, probably a phoenix. The profuse detail is exquisite, in particular the berries, grapes and lotus leaves under the shelf. Exceptional high quality casting. In good condition, complete with new back and grate. From a house near Macclesfield. Circa 1868.
