'The Arts & Study' Victorian Cast Iron Combination Fireplace. A truly amazing design. The capitals of each leg depict passion flowers with flowing tendrils. The design to the legs really captures the theme with many of the instruments belonging to the study of the Arts; a writer's quill, trumpet, flute, xylophone, triangle, castanets, stone masons, tools, poet's scroll, artist's palette. Notice the sheet music; you can actually see the notes on it. To the centre frieze is an eagle sitting on top of the world amongst oak leaves and acorns. The detail and workmanship is outstanding. Circa 1882.
